Wow, this was an unexpectedly juicy EP of excellent female-fronted electronica. Loved the "Toxic" cover and the gentle jungle in "Ofelia". Some late '90s trip-hop and d&b flavors, though I detected a hint of early Grimes, as well.
Favorite track: Cigarra - Ofélia.
Rebel Up SebCat
warm, organic and soft electronic productions via Brazil with a highly sensitive feminine touch. Cigarra's sound leaves you in natural spaces, wondering; where did the time go? The new Brazilian wave is getting out there....
English - Edits gestated in the cocoon for years with sample layers from the roof of the mouth of stormy woman, bases of the low groans of the Earth in an oceanic rhythm, from 70 to 140 bpm.
From São Paulo, Ágatha Barbosa (Cigarra), deflowers her sets during 9 of her 29 years and now, reborn, finalizes this first EP with songs that have been part of this most recent history of her collage work.
Her researches are based on cultures both ancestral and organic as urban and synthetic, and on guetto-electronics and psychedelic rock. There are 6 songs based on a sampling work, each one resounds a hurricane in a woman’s voice.
Límbica entitleds this selection confessing where cames from the full strength of these creations: the passionate utero from the brain and also the limbo, marginalization of the scene.

I'd heard cumbia before, but I didn't know what it was called. Having it gently mixed with a heaping helping of psychedelic electronica is exactly how I like it. Jean-Paul DuQuette

Excellent mini album! It's hard to choose a favourite track - all five are superb. Sounding very different with various cultural influences: For example they use French spoken samples on "Indian Summer".
All five songs are now in my dj-song-pool .... Kristian Kosmik
