Based in Haarlem, the Netherlands, Thomas Gaarthuis, better known by his artist name Thommie G, releases his debut EP on Tropical Twista Records.

Inspired by his travels to the South American continent, the EP, titled ‘Athinouk’, delivers 3 tracks, touching sounds and elements from the Andes to the Amazon rainforest.

Thomas was caught by the enchantment of music since the very beginning. Working as a graphic designer for 16 years, it felt natural to step into the world of sound design. Having a big affinity with tribal music since the nineties, he combines organic sounds and rhythms to his productions, carrying the listener to places beyond their audio system. Although not married to a specific genre, his style touches elements of deep, melodic and tribal.

He produces different sounds for different occasions, mostly by himself, sometimes joining forces with other musicians.His music is played by a number of DJ's, such as Oceanvs Orientalis, Pigmaliâo (Voodoohop), Luis Rosenberg, Urban Cosmonaut Radio collective and more.

Besides that, 2015 saw the birth of Dancing under the stars (Dansen onder de Sterren), Thomas' own club night in his hometown of Haarlem.
